Caol Ila 12y – Subdued, fruity citric on the nose; a whiff of bath oil and mouthwash from the dentist. A fresh and appetizing nose, with little or no trace of smoke. A little water lifts the almond oil and old oils; again a fresh fruitiness, a trace of olive oil, and after a while potpourri or scented hand soap. On the palate it drinks well at natural strength; sweet beginning; pleasant, light fragrant smoking and long finish. Soft and pleasant in the mouth; with a slight acidity of the water, a little salt and even the sweetest notes. A complex balance of primary flavors. Sweet smokiness in the persistent, slightly acidic finish.
