Glenkinchie 12y – Bright gold. On the nose overall very aromatic and floral, like breathing in a country garden. Remarkable vanilla, cut flowers (narcissus, flower and hints of lily) and beneath these, a clean and toasted note. It becomes increasingly sweet and creamy, with a slightly aromatic edge and fresh citrus, reminiscent of lemon cheesecake. The water makes it even more creamy and fragrant. On the palate a sweet and soft start, like crème anglaise, which soon becomes floral again. A really smooth delivery, especially after adding a drop of water. The mid-palate is crisp and then the flavor settles into a well-concentrated bundle of buttercream frosting, lemon cheesecake and freesias.
